We will also be hosting the Moving Tribute which lists the names of Americans killed since 1975 from Somalia, Beirut, Panama, Grenada, Desert Storm, and Enduring Freedom.
The event is FREE to the public.
Ceremonies will be 10:00am on Saturday (10/17/2009) and 2:00pm on Sunday (10/18/2009)

Below are web-sites that provide information on Veterans benefits and how to file/ask for them. Accordingly, there are many sites that explain how to obtain books, military/medical records, information and how to appeal a denied claim with the VA. Please pass this information on to every Veteran you know. Nearly 100% of this information is free and available for all veterans, the only catch is: you have to ask for it, because they won’t tell you about a specific benefit unless you ask for it. You need to know what questions to ask so the right doors open for you — and then be ready to have an advocate who is willing to work with and for you, stay in the process, and press for your rights and your best interests.

News release:
You can still help. We’ll be setting up The Wall and the Moving Tribute on Thursday, October 15, 2009 starting about 9:30am. We have 7 truckloads of mulch being delivered that needs to be spread around. Trees/bushes/shrubs are coming from Holder an they’ll need to be set and mulched. Lights have to be installed in the tent. Installation will continue into Friday with a plan to be completed by 3:00pm.
We have a need for people to direct traffic. People to do name searches on the computers and to direct people to the proper location of a name on The Wall. This will go on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Monday we’ll be looking for people to help take down The Wall.

Fundraiser for The Wall Poker Run

- Scenic ride through Marion, Levy, & Citrus Counties.
- Starts at RideNow PowerSports – 3920 N Hwy 441, Ocala, FL – First bike out @ 9am.
- Stops include: Hickory Island in Inglis, Backyard Choppers in Dunnellon, Iron Horse Parts in Lecanto.
- Ends at VFW Post 10087 – Beverly Hills – Last bike in by 2pm – Food, refreshments, music.
This is a fundraiser to help the Vietnam Veterans Gathering bring in a 3/5 scale version of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to Palm Chevrolet, Ocala on October 15 – 19, 2009.
